    Default Question

Is it OK to changed the Powered by Zen-Cart from the ALT-Text of the Logo If I want to have it included as a showcase site once I am done with the site so long as I have it in the footer as part of the copyright?

Are you asking from a legal, moral or ethical point of view?

Whichever you choose I'm not going to give you an answer, but I am rather curious as to why?

Most zen-cart users are actually quite proud of our choice of software and have no issues at all with promoting it to others with the 'powered by zencart' text.

Although a rather broad (and possibly invalid statement to make) the few people that want to remove this text usually do so because either intentionally, or unintentionally they are trying to promote their webstore as being entirely their own work. No, I am not trying to imply that that is your intention, so please don't take offense. None is intended.

    Just my 2cents worth.

    Cheers
    Rod

Yes, you can change the alt text for the logo. Leave the copyright in the footer to qualify to request that your site be added to the showcase.

The ALT text can be changed as AFO said and it is in the languaqges/english/header.php (be sure to copy it to your overrides directory)

Nothing immoral about changing the alt text... In fact it would be quite poor usability for your site's logo to have alt text saying powered by zen cart.

I think Rod misunderstood the question and thought dfontana wanted to remove the Zen Cart link from the footer. That's not immoral either... just tacky.
