    hi, everyone,

Do you know it is possible to give customer some discount
on total shipping cost?(calulated by weight by DHL, UPS, ...)
say 15% less, or 50% less...
and these percentage can be modified throught Admin configuration key.

any comments? many thanks in advance.

Yep. This one, I can help you with, Jerry. Go to Admin>Customers>Group Pricing.......set up a group (we'll say you want to call it 'VIP Customers'), add the discount you want them to have.

Next, if you have exissting customers that you want to add to this group, Go to Admin>Customers>Customers.......find a customer that you want to have this discount, click on "Edit", then you will find a dropdown close to the bottom that says "Discount Pricing Group". There you will find your newly created "VIP Customers" in that list. Then save.

You will also have to manually put your new customers, that you want to have this discount, into that group after their account creation.

And you can make as many "Groups" as you want, each with a different percentage discount, if you want.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi, Get Em Fast,

    Thanks for your quick answer.

yes, this is one of the way to give customer some discount, however, it gives discount on order value, and only for registerd custoemr/ old customer/VIPs,
    not for new customer.

Maybe we could add some discount on total shipping cost, which we think is the promotion ad for new customers.

do you agree? i am sitll searching answer.

Ahhhh ! I'm sooo sorry.....I totally missed the key word....... "Shipping".

Hmm......discount on shipping, huh? Don't think you can do that, as of yet, anyway. But you might offer Free shipping for orders over $xx.00, or give them a discount coupon good at time of purchase (or for a later store visit), if order is over $xx.00 ?
