Display Products Qty Units but no restriction on qty purchased?

My client wishes his customers to know how many units per carton, becase some of them purchase in bulk, but he does not want purchases restricted to multiples of this number because some smaller customers only wish to purchase part-cartons. Is there a setting for this? Someone please say yes ...
I know that the units/carton could be included in the product description, but we're talking hundreds of products here.
