Default Countries still in drop down after deletion from DB

    Hey guys.

I deleted all but 2 countries from the coutries table in the DB but they still all appear in drop down lists and in the Admin->Locations->Countries list.

I thought by deleting them from the DB that it would do the trick but obviously it didn't. Many of the posts I see relating to Countries are from 2006ish and before 1.3.8 which I am using.

Has something changed? Do I need to make a change elsewhere?

    Thanks

    Go to Admin>Locations / Taxes>Countries.........and delete away.

    Hope this helps.

Yeah, thanks. I knew about that already, but I was wondering why if I deleted them from the main DB, why they would still be showing up in the interface and drop downs.

I am assuming that they are read fromt hat initial table but are then stored somewhere else?

    Just trying to see where.

    Thanks though.

I suspect you're deleting them from the wrong table then. Perhaps you have multiple sets of tables in your database? ie: "countries", "zen_countries", "mystore_countries", etc? Zen Cart uses the tables whose prefix is determined by the DB_PREFIX value in your configure.php files. If you go altering data in the wrong set of tables, then you're going to see unexpected results.

My DB_PREFIX is zen, and all my tables are zen_X, in this case, zen_countries.

There are no other duplicate named tables in the DB.

I ended 1x1 deleting from the Admin/Locations section, but I am curious as to where else, if somewhere, this data is actually stored.
