Default Problems using MXP currency with PayPal

    Hi,

I am using version 1.3.8 of zencart.

I am using spanish as default language. Downloaded it from downloads.

I am using MXP as default currency.

    Here is my trouble:

When checkout is sent to paypal IPN, amount in paypal is 0.0 and I am asked to enter an amount in USD. I believe I shouldn't be asked in paypal for any amount. Am I correct?

My default currency (favorite) in Paypal is also MXP.

żAny idea how can I solve this?

Isn't MXN the correct currency code for the Mexican Peso not MXP?

Well I believe is MXP. That's how my zen cart currency code for Mexico is defined and is the same in Paypal

Sorry, you are right, I had zen cart currency code defined as MXP and Paypal is MXN. I changed it in zen cart to match pay pal's but now I loose all my prices in the store.

You may have to edit your addon language files to reflect the correct currency code. See this FAQ for related discussion: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=96

DrByte you are very helpful. Now I have prices in MXN in my Admin, I can see them correct in my store. I see the correct amount in Paypal, but still I see USD in paypal. Here is an example: The checkout amount in my store is $56 MXN, in Paypal it is shown as $56 USD.

I think I am getting closer, thanks for your help

If you are only ever going to use MXN, then in your Zen Cart admin, in your Paypal modue settings, you should set the currency to "MXN", or "Selected Currency".

And, in your PayPal account, you need to make sure you have a MXN currency open, and go into your Payment Receiving Preferences, and tell it to always receive transactions in the currency they're submitted as, if you have that currency "open". (I can't remember the exact wording, but it sounds like that.) You don't want it to auto-convert between currencies.

    Hi Dr,

Yes I am only going to use MXN at this time.

I did what you pointed out and still did not work. So I digged a little further in my files this is what I did:

    I edited two files:

    /home/content/o/r/g/organicos/html/tienda/includes/modules/payment/paypal/paypal_functions.php

Line #177 : $my_currency = 'USD'; and replaced with 'MXN'

    /home/content/o/r/g/organicos/html/tienda/includes/languages/english.php

Line #42 : define('LANGUAGE_CURRENCY', 'USD'); and replaced with 'MXN'

Now I have MXN both in ZC and in Paypal, I have to test deeper

Hope you agree with these changes and let me know if I didn't break anything else.

    Thanks so much

I wouldn't recommend making any changes to the paypal_functions.php file. But, certainly editing your language files to reflect the proper currency is the right thing to do.
Might also want to be sure you've set MXN to be the default currency in your Admin->Localization->Currencies.
