Default Quick email related question - should my store email address match my domain name?

I didn't think about this while I was setting up email, but my store's email address is (js2k at joeytam.com), but my store is js2k.com.

Do you think it's unprofessional to not have an email address like (support at js2k.com)? I thought (in the beginning) it might add a personal touch, since the store name is Joey's S2000 Accessories.

I don't want to go through losing all my previous emails, nor setting up email again, plus the actual email address will seldom be seen since there's a Contact Us page.

    Thanks!
    Joey

It's not necessary. The Holzheimer's site in my sig uses addresses for email that aren't on the domain.

I'll respectfully disagree. I think any email address your customer may see should be from your domain, not a personal address or a catch-all. Looks much more professional to me.

Actually, I agree with you Steve, but Zen Cart doesn't check or care, so if another email address is in use (as was true of the Holzheimer site), it might be best to keep the one existing customers are used to.

The best practice if you are accepting payments of any kind is to have the return/reply email address the same as the domain. If you don't you run the risk of chargebacks, because customers are apt to think the shop could be a scam. The business name that shows on the customer's credit card statement should match the domain too.
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

It's my thread to be disgreeable. Ideally, the domain name should show on the credit card statement, but for those of us with multiple sites, we'd need a separate merchant account for each. Most processors allow two lines to appear on statements, so a corporate name and a telephone number (with prominent announcements on the site about what the customer will see on his statement) seems to do the trick.
