    Default Multiple Images question

I have a zen cart site that using the image handler 2 addon. I understand I can use that to handle multiple product images. My issue is that the client accidentally named all her products according to the zen cart multiple images naming convention. Something like product1, product2, product3, etc.

So if multiple images is turned on in the admin product 1 also shows the picture for product11, product12 and so on. Can I have a custom file for image handling that would override the default so I can pull that default convention out? What would that file be named and where would it go? And is there an easier way?

    Thanks,
    Brandon

That is not a suggested naming schema for the base product image....or was confused with the additional image naming schema

No Short cut - will have to name properly and once done IH2 will also respect the new names

Renaming isn't really an option. There are too many products and I don't manage this site. So I'd rather override. As far as the theme structure goes, can I have a module or addon specific to this site that overwrites the additional image functionality? I'd just like to remove the check for common base name and let IH2 take care of it all. And what file would that be in?

You are treading on thin ice.....start with /includes/modules/additional_images.php
and NOTE: IH2 has replaced/overode this file

I live for thin ice. The thinner the better.

IH2 has already overridden this? I suppose I could modify that. Unless I can override the override. Is that possible? I need this fixed but I don't want to have to refix with every update.

I guess worst case scenario I just have to modify the addon. Not a lot of updating going on there.

Will have to always check if a later version has changed the core file and merge them

But not if I make the change in IH2's override and then don't update the addon. Right?

Or, can I over ride the over ride? But only override the function(s) that deals with the multiple images naming convention.

If the core file changes then you MUST update the file as using old code with later code is fatal

I took a good long look at the additional images handler and advised my client to rename her images. I appreciate the help looking into it, but you're right. Very thin ice.
