    Default Product Status Reporting

Short disclaimer before asking, I've searched and searched the forums with no luck....

I am in the process of setting up a second cart v1.38 for a vendor to use as a kind of online inventory management system. I would like to be able to have a notification when they change the status of a product to disabled or enabled in the admin section.

    Is it possible?

    Thanks for all your help!

When using the green/red icons? Or does this also have to work if they edit the product and change the Instock/Out of stock setting?

Note: these are the field being changed but in different areas of the code ...

Ideally, I would like a notification on any product changes. I would like updates using the green/red buttons or In stock/ Out of stock settings if possible. But at the moment I'll take what is simple and what works.

You can send on email whenever a change is made, but it is going to get rather cumbersome ...

Is there a reason that you need an email on each change to the Products?

Do you need a product by product or a daily summary or what?

I will try to briefly explain what I am trying to accomplish and maybe you can suggest what you think is best.

I have a vendor who sells product offline. I sell his product online but don't physically stock inventory. When something sells offline, he can go into the ZenCart that I set up for him and change the status of the item.

I would like to be notified of this so that I can take it offline and also be made aware of the sold item. I would also like to add multiple email addresses to the notification if possible and ideally have check boxes that he can select to choose which email address gets the notification....I know it would probably require some custom coding at this point.....but just to get the notifications going first would be good.

The reason I said I would like to be notified of any and all product changes is because he can also update and change product descriptions. I would like to sync those with the items that I am selling online.

Look in the categories.php file for:
    setflag

that is used for the when the status icon is changed from green/red ...

Look in the module update_product.php for when the product is updated ...
