Recommendations for Integrated Development Enviroment for Zen Cart?

Newbie question. I'm starting to modify my Zen files, and I'm using a very old version of Dreamweaver. I'm looking for an IDE where I can edit code, then debug - watch variables, step through code, etc. I'm reading that Zend Studio, PDT/Eclipse and NetBeans seem to be popular in the wider PHP world.

Is there something that works well with Zen Cart? Prefer to spend <=$100, but guess I would spend more if that was really the way to go.

I suppose an integrated environment might be handy, especially if you were developing code. But you rarely need to edit code to any great extent in Zen Cart. Why not just install something like XAMPP (or MAMP for Mac) and run a local copy of Zen Cart for development purposes? That's what I do, editing in a good text editor (I use BBEdit) and I am able to see the results immediately.

I would recommend APTANA. studio version is payed version but basic version that dose almost every thing is free . i use it all the time .. base on eclipse but is configured for php , web , mysql authoring .
