I thought we were all talking about Pay Per Click? Adwords is Pay Per Click. Dude(tte), I'm confused!

I entered it and it seems to be working, I’ll know in a day or two for sure. Is it tracking the data that needs to be tracked..?? However…

Why would java script be entered in the main page php when the docs that come with Zen speak of entering Java universally and the directions conflict with the above approach.

Since Zen cart is for e-commerce and since Google is the biggest PPC company out there, I’m going to guess that someone on the Zen Team has already addressed this issue—I just cannot find the thread. Any help?

I know Google and most SEO companies provide no instruction. If you search Google analytics help site and the web, you’ll see scores of Zen cart users asking the same question. I wonder if the Zen team is aware of this major problem troubling so many users?

Does anyone know where the authoritative answer is located?

    Thanks much…

Nope.... Dude, original poster is asking about conversions not showing in Analytics, NOT Adwords.... In analytics they will show if installed correctly without any additional intervention.

But Dudette, when I go to Google's advertising home page, it reads as follows:

    For Advertisers: Google AdWords

    * Advertise to people searching on Google and our advertising network
    * Reach people actively looking for information about your products and services online
    * Easily control costs - pay only when people click on your ad

    Adwords IS Pay Per Click.

Anyone just installing solely the analytics part is missing out on the real heart of it...tracking from search to purchase. Analytics is incomplete without conversion data.

In my humble opinion, the data from analytics is junk unless I can track it to a particular sale.

Any special way to get the Zen-Cart Teams' ear on this?

That is ONLY for Adwords... the Analytics Code tracks all conversions by default IF you set it up correctly and your template is not broken. Adwords is conversions code is necessary ONLY for conversions in the ADWORDS panel.

see images of the regular installed code ONLY.

Then...Google has some trainees that do not know what the "heck" they are talking about. Sigh.

I'll check this over again... here's another --sigh-- for good measure!

Well, there are other things that need tweaking in the account...that you didn't mention...but I finally understand what you are saying and have it working.
