Hi all, this is my first post here, so please be gentle!

I've installed the latest version of the software 2 days ago, and I'm struggling to get the options system to do what I want it to do...

My site sells bike tuning parts, and the parts that I sell vary in price for different bike models. What I would ideally like to do is have a right hand sidebar that allows people to put in their bike make and model and the site will filter the products to their bike, and I presumed that I would do this via the options system.

Firstly, with my old shopping cart system (cloverleaf), it allowed me to have these options (bike models) with a different price to each, but I cant work out how to do this with zencart,

and secondly, how would I add a dropdown to the right hand side?

I know this is all possible as a competitor site is doing this, and I obviously want mine to be better!

Theres also the options ffrom the standard install had has record companys, music genres, etc, I dont know how to take these off, I dont know wether their system would be better suited to what I want to do, and wether they would support a different price per product.

It's a lot to ask, i know.... but as I said, i am new!
