    Default Filename [red dot]?

    Hi,
I created Option name and Option values for a downloadable product. All is fine till I named the file to be downloaded. On my local server all is OK and I can use a fake confirmed payment, then retrieving the file (zip).

But, on my website the filename is marked with a 'red dot', as 'invalid filename'. So, I imagine that the source is not read. I wrote down directory (out of www or public_html) voluntarily with error in the 'configure.php' file. Error message says 'directory doesn't exist' bla bla bla. So, the directory is readable when I restablish the path correctly!

I don't understand why the source or the filename is not read, since it works on local!!! I'm on production on Linux (HostGator). I just noted that my Option name is 'dropdown' button, but in the catalog the product is shown with a 'radio' button! Is there a link with that? I really don't know.

Thank you for your willingness to help me [I tried some hints on forum without success]. I've no choice to wait to open my eCom with ZenCart.

I'm not sure I understand you fully.

What is your DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD path? and your DIR_FS_CATALOG path?

It's because the path is wrong, or the file doesn't exist.

What's the filename? Are there any special characters other than the standard english alphabet? If so, maybe your server is having a hard time identifying other characters?

That's normal. If it's a single option, it shows as a radio button instead, since a dropdown is pointless with only one entry.

Not sure if this applies to your case, but I had a similar problem where everything was ok with downloads in the catalog, but in admin I had the red dot.

Turns out I forgot to set up the admin config to point to the download directory.

    Hi
I also get red dots for my .mp3 files in the download folder, when listed in download manager or attribute side. How do I edit the admin config to point to right folder?

You have /admin/includes/configure.php and /includes/configure.php ... for the download path, both files need to contain the same entry. Note that the files are not identical in all respects.

I just encountered this issue. My admin/includes/configure.php file was fine. I didn't need to make any edits at all. The mistake I made was including the entire path. [ie. http://www.sitename.com/shopname/download/filename] All it needs is the filename and any subfolders you might have made.
