Broken Image auto-replace?

Hey guys quick question. Is there any way to have any broken product image links to automatically grab the nopic.gif instead of displaying a red X?

Basically all my images are named after item part number ex. item 'f123' is 'f123.jpg'. But I have 1000's of products, so if I get a new photos I have have to upload them and either update the image url in the control panel, or easy populate. But it would be great if I could just add the correct image like to all my products and then the ones that have pics would work, and the ones without images would so my nopic.gif image instead of a red X. Then when I get new pics, I just upload them and they start working.

Just take your nopic.gif and rename it to no_picture.gif and upload it to public_html/images
