    Default Checkout Button Hide with Google Checkout

    After searching, searching and searching through the thousands of posts on this forum concerning Google Checkout; I can not locate an answer that works to perform what should be simple task:

    I want ( and need) to HIDE the Zen Cart CHECKOUT button from all views.

    Why do I want to do this; Google checkout is the only option in my store. Customers get very confused with two buttons. Also it is a violation of the Google CHeckout terms and conditions to force a login on my site prior to the Google Checkout process.

    There are no less that 5 fixes for this spread all over the place on this board, but none are complete or work in every instance.

    The are other flaws in the Zen Cart/ Google marrage, but I need to get through this one first. Google cart support is difficult at best to come by. Google is no help at all.

    My configuration; Zen Cart 1.3.8a, Google Checkout for Zen Cart, Purple shades template

    My SIte; www.rincebands.com

    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Yes; as I said, there are several solutions that partially work. The one you selected is the best choice of the solutions posted, but still causes issues.

    Here is how;
    1. Select an item and add it to your cart
    2. Select "Log In" from the top menu bar
    3. Log In with your account
    4. You then receive a message that "We are not currently shipping to your area"

    So yes - the button is gone, and as long as the customer does not try to sign in AFTER SELECTING ONE ITEM FOR THE CART, all is well.

    It should be noted that if the customer signs in first, then adds items to the cart, all works. It is just the "Mid-Order" signin that screws everything up.

    I actually want customers to sign in. I want to capture there data. FOr this reason, I really do not like the Google process, but for other Ebay reasons, it is my best choice at this time.
