Coupon Restrictions option not working for me

I have setup a test coupon which seems to work fine for any product in the cart during checkout. However, after reading through posts on how to restrict a coupon to a specific product, I gather this can be done by clicking the 'restrictions' button for a given coupon.

The problem is that I get a page not found error when I click the button, the link it it trying to goto is 'cart/admin/coupon_restrict.php?cid=1'. The php file exists and it 's permissions seem fine. Any known reason why this is happening? I am running version 1.2.5 (I know we need to upgrade but this is no simple task at this time).

Could be, among all the other bugs and security risks in that version, that you have bad, corrupt or missing files in your /admin ...

You could try reloading the /admin and all subdirectories and files ... or use something like Beyond Compare from scootersoftware.com to see what problems there might be with the files ...

I know I've encountered this before but once again I am unable to access the coupon restrictions button for a new coupon. Can't find the previous work around post. I've found several user post with the same problem but there was no solution given. I kind of remember there was some code that neeeded to be commented out in admin but can remember where.

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS IN VERSION 1.3.8?

If you are using the Admin Profile addon then you need to adjust your admin permissions Tools > Admin Profile and tick the box for coupon restrictions.
