New Banner, New banner location

I want to add a big huge "banner ad" on the front page of my shop, say 600px by 400px.... can someone guide me in the right direction for adding the coding?

I'm looking at it being directly under the "welcome" message.

I was able to make this change pretty easily to my OSC store... just need a point in the right direction for Zen...

admin > tools > defines pages editor > select "main_page.php > add code for image

Thanks, but I'm looking to use banner manager to display certain graphics using the calendar for start/stop.

Right now, I've cleared out "main_page.php " completely, so it doesn't show on the front page, and one of the footer banners is showing in this space now (I uploaded a large graphic and created a new banner group)

I think I may be able to copy the code used for the banner ad, and then add it to the index.php page, so it only shows on the front page and not all pages.

I just need to figure out how to get it so it only shows on the main page and not on the other pages...
