    Default Rentacart Problems

Hi all, has anyone had problems with Rentacart before?
I've had my site for over a year but couldn't get to any part of it for 2 months?
When it did come back online it was like it had been put back to last year with products that i removed anges ago put back on?
its like they rebutted it from a back up disc from last yaer.
Anyone else had a simlar problem?
I've contacted Rentacart and have had no reply, even sat on hold on the phone for 30 min.
    Help?
    Thank you
    John

    Hi John

I've helped two people "migrate" from rent-a-cart over the last year, because they felt they weren't getting value for money there. While doing the migration, it concerned me that this company is willing to charge monthly fees, but offers precious little in return. (For example, the versions of ZC that I migrated were old. My feeling is that a company offering such services ought to ensure they upgrade their clients' software to the latest versions.)

Anyway... in your case, it would appear that they've restored a backup - and quite an old one...

    Moral of the story...

    1. Host with someone who knows ZC and is trustworthy (see recommended hosts above - I actually use a USA host, even though I'm in UK mostly). For a small fee ($2 / month) my host does nightly backups.

    2. Do your own backups - despite my nightly backups, I backup my clients' sites every week.

I've never heard of anyone having a positive experience with that outfit.

I'd suggest you do yourself a favor and arrange for your own domain and hosting and run your store yourself.
