Do I need Image Handler 2?

Hi

I am using zc 1.38a.

I have a client who has all of the images required for the shop, she is scanning them in, but the images are way too big in size and dimensions. So my question is if I installed IH 2 for her would this help?

I am in the UK and she is in France.

Any help please?

IH2 will certainly be a big help - but the images uploaded shouldn't be much bigger than about 500x500px or you might run into server memory problems when IH2 tries to resize them as needed.

Hmm I see, the images she is uploading are about 1.4meg and are over 1000px wide. I was just hoping I could sort the pictures out for her, but now looks like she will have to optimise them before uploading....could be interesting!!

It's not so much the dimensions as the filesizes that will be an issue - fromwhat you posted the resolution on those images is likely to be fairly high - a good starting point would be to ensure that images are no higher than 72dpi resolution, as that's the general resolution of most monitors...
