    Default I need help with just about everything...

    Sorry that this is going to require so much help. I've tried searching the forums and read through the FAQ and all that, and I think I'll save myself a day or two more or searching by just putting it all here.


    So fresh install. v1.3.8a. What I'm trying to do is set up a wedding registry site for our honeymoon so friends and family can log on and purchase portions of our trip for us. Obviously this means we don't need about 90% of Zen Cart's functionality. I spent a couple of days (VERY limited CSS and PHP experience) trimming the fat to get the simplest site possible. Too see what I've got so far, it's at:

    Now here are my issues that are causing me to pull my hair out:

    1.) Because of the nature of this site, none of the items will actually be shipped out, as they're all gifts to us. So on every product I click the checkbox that it's a virtual item and doesn't need shipping. It even puts up a warning that says "Warning: This product is marked - Free Shipping and Skips Shipping Address. No shipping will be requested when all products in the order are Virtual Products." Yet when I test the site and try to buy something, it always asks for shipping method anyway. I don't want our guests to even SEE the word "shipping." Ever. I've also tried uninstalling all shipping modules and that seemingly creates problems down the road...

    2.) I obtained a PayPal Pro account so people can pay with a credit card directly on the website. I followed the instructions from the Payments Module page exactly: installed Express Checkout first, input all of that info, then installed Website Payments Pro. Once done, under "Orders Status" on the Payments Module page, both Express and Pro read "Processing." What does that mean? Does that mean it's not done installing, or that it's working, or what?

    3.) Either way, I pressed on and attempted a test purchase, logging in as a customer. First time I tried a direct credit card payment. It took my card, everything seemed to go through, I got three emails with order info, and the order appeared in my order history. But then nothing happened. I kept checking my PayPal account and no transaction took place. Am I missing something? It seemed simple enough to me: person pays with credit card, PayPal runs credit card, my PayPal account gets credited, right? Is there something else I have to do? I think checked the order and noticed that it's status was "pending". So I clicked the "generate invoice" button figuring that would complete the order and payment would occur. No dice. The only other thing I could do with it dealt with shipping, and I'm not doing shipping (although, as I wrote above, Zen Cart couldn't seem to figure this out...). So I've got this order, I think I've got PayPal Web Payments Pro installed on my Zen Cart, but I can't seem to make money actually change hands. Any ideas?

    4.) I then tried another purchase using the "Pay now with PayPal" button, which took me to PayPal's site. After I entered the CC info and address and everything and clicked to complete the payment, it just sent me back to my page so that I could review the order and select shipping method. Well there's no shipping! I'd removed all of the shipping modules, so there was nothing to choose. Instead it showed the "We're unable to ship to your location at this time" message. And there's nothing else on the page to do. So I was kind of stuck there unable to complete the purchase. I figure I've gotta have something setup wrong there.

    5.) My last concern is the credit card info. I got three emails telling me a purchase had been made on my site. Between the three emails I had the complete CC info. I don't WANT my friends and family's credit card information. Isn't that what PayPal is supposed to handle? I've tried doing everything I can through the menus to eliminate as much customer info from my site as possible (let PayPal have that for all I care), but I'm still getting unwanted info. Any way to disable this?

    Again, sorry this is so much at once. I appreciate any help you can give me.

    Alright, I think I actually got just about everything working. Turns out my administrative email address did not match my PayPal address. One typo'd letter caused all of those problems.

    Thanks for your time if you read all of that.
