Default Problem with the index.php file

    Using Zen Cart 1.3.8a
    Database Patch Level: 1.3.8
    First and fresh install
Added ImageHandler 2 and Quantity Discount within last 2 weeks
    Domain Name: www.craftystash.com

Hello, I hope someone can help me. I am very new to Zencart, websites and codes, and must admit I've almost given up about 10 times already

I have finally got my store almost the way I want it (I still have bits that I don't know how to change - but a bit more searching might find them), but it is good enough for me to take off the JustHost Domain screen that I was given with it.

I installed zencart to the recommended directory of public_html/store. Within my public_html directory the index.php file is there (the JustHost one) and I was advised by my hosts to delete this to get my store online. The problem is when I delete the index.php file for Just Host, the files/folders of my public_html directory are displayed on the webpage. If I replace the index.php file with the zencart one from my store directory, I get fatal error messages saying that includes/application_top.php is not valid.

I am completely at a loss now and wondered if any of you would be able to help me.

Look forward to any advise you may be able to give me.

    Thank you, Debbie

Your Zen Cart is away down in your store directory, disconnected from the index.php file that you are putting in your public_html folder.

You can redirect all traffic that comes into the top directory down to the store, or move the rest of the store up to the top level. There's a FAQ entry that explains how to do the latter.

That link certainly looks like the ticket... thank you so much Kobra.

I am totally cross-eyed now after trying to sort this all day, so I shall have a go at this tomorrow (children permitting).

Thank you again - you're a star. Have a lovely weekend!
