removing checkout button

Hi

I would like to remove the checkout button. I like to keep the shopping cart, so customers can save items. But for right not I would like to remove the checkout button.
Can someone help where to find the code to remove this?

Don't go removing code.. there's a simpler way to remove the checkout button, especially if it's a temporary thing...

Just replace the button image with a 1px by 1px transparent .gif file
