changing user greeting

Hi All.....again,

Just wondering if anyone has changed the greeting msg based on the time of the day?

outcome would be......
if its the morning then display = good morning guest/user
if its the evening then display = good afternoon / good evening guest/user.


I know its a little obscure but maybe a cool tweek that makes the customer a little more welcomed.

Any ideas guys & gals?

update......

i had some trouble with displaying the users local time...in php
so i swapped to a crappppy javascript to save time as my holiday time is rapidly coming to an end.

yeah......its real dirty but hey it works
