red flag LinkPoint Problem? 2006 MySQL server has gone away

Hi - I'm using ZenCart 1.3.8.1, and had been just usin the PayPal IPN standard module for payments. I established a merchant account so that I could switch to the LinkPoint module, and have now installed that. Things seem to work okay until I get ot the last step, when the order is to be confirmed, when the system hangs for a couple of minutes that gives me the following debug message :

2006 MySQL server has gone away
    in:
[select customers_email_format from customers where customers_email_address= '[email protected]']
2006 MySQL server has gone away
    in:
[select count(*) as total from sessions where sesskey = '891dd23b5344cc72996e3688f5019861']

Unofrtuantely, I am NOT and IT person and have no clue as to what to do with this information. How do I go about fixing this?

    The site can be seen at http://w w w . h e a r t k e e p s . c o m

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

What *exactly* do you mean by "the exact same problem"?

The post above talks about several things:
    - using paypal IPN
    - also using linkpoint module
    - making payments via linkpoint
    - getting an error message about server has gone away
    - that error message happening specifically during the completion of an order, after a long pause
    - a very specific SQL statement as part of the error message
    - etc

    And,
    - when did it start happening?
    - and ... when you click the "reply" button below, be sure to include answers to all the questions in the "Posting Tips" section above the spot where you type your reply.
