    Default Shipping charges

Is it possible to charge a certain amount of shipping for the first item and then charge $x for each additional item?

For example, we want to be able to charge $26 shipping for a single bottle of wine and charge $1 more for each bottle after that, so a 10 bottle order would be the price of the wine, plus the $26 for the first bottle and $9 for the other 9 bottles.

Can this be done, and if so, how?

If this is true of ALL products where you need to charge $9 then $1 for each additional, this can be done with Item Rate item shipping by setting the Handling to 8.00 and the Item Charge to 1.00 ...

If you need this on a Per Item Per Product Basis ... this would probably have to be customized, but we would need more details such as ...

Is it always a Per Product charge that is unique per product ... but then Always add $1.00 ...

Or, Is it always a unique per product charge where the 1st qty per product is $XXX and the addition quantity per product is $YYY ...

Food for thought. I'm meeting with the client tomorrow so I'll clarify that.

    Thanks for the speedy reply.

Per Unit perweight unit can be used if the Products need the variable rate but the extra per item is the problem ... and if that is a unique per addition item on a Product basis then that is more fun ...

There are a lot of variations to writing the shipping modules that can be managed but first more information is required ...

The Per Item is the way we are going to go with this. Thanks.
