custom template not showing up as an option in the admin area

I have followed the instructions in the FAQ to build overrides for my site. The last step in the FAQ page is to go to the admin area and select the new template, however it is not appearing so I can't select it. Any idea why it might not show up?

I followed the instructions carefully, check and re-checked. I need a fresh perspective or perhaps a more experienced one...this is my first zen cart site (though I have designed many many non-shopping cart websites). Thanks!

Did you upload a template_info.php file (that reflects the name of your custom template) to your includes/templates/your_template folder?

did you edit the file includes/templates/your_template/template_info.php (specifically, the content of the variable $template_name) so it is named something unique? That's what will show in admin for the template name.

yes to both questions. I finally just started over from scratch and for some reason it worked this time. I guess I will never know why it didn't work the first time, but now I don't care. Thanks for being kind enough to try to help me. Now I have another question, but I'm going to start another thread.
