Very strange and big problem - See if you can figure it out?

Ok,
I am trying all angels here to try and figure this out.
My flash header works fine in EVERY page of the site EXCEPT for the first time it loads. The animation loads, but the links in the menu do not.

If I re-load the page, it usually works, if I navigate away from it and come back, it works. It's such a huge problem because the first time is the most important time my customers see it!

I am also investigating the coding of the header itself, but so far, no problems can be found with it.

What am I missing?

I viewed in FireFox an it loaded first time

It does load, it's just the darn buttons not working - as if it doesn't finish loading or something..?

Same deal in IE8 - so says my Dad.

Being I have already loaded it you might have to wait for another to come along...
Alternatively, you might remove the nav from the flash and use a more standard menu schema

JMHO - but I hate the noise when that thing loads and the buttons do not work even after refreshing the page - it is as if the links are not even there.

I tested this using Firefox, Chrome and IE8. Same results for each browser. Flash loads okay but the links do not respond when initially viewing the homepage. Once I go to another page, the links start working, even on the homepage after returning.

Is there any difference to how the pages are loaded after the initial page?

My results mirror yours.

I am wondering if I should go snooping around in the code.

I am also looking at workarounds for the animation, just FYI.

I found that if the URL contains www, then the flash links do not work.
