Problem with uploading product pictures

I'm new here so not really sure where this question should go... anyway,
I am trying to build my first website and as I am trying to add new products, I am having trouble getting pictures to upload.

Everytime I select the picture off my hard drive and attempt to add the product, I get these errors.

I have permissions for zencart\admin\includes\classes\upload.php set to write and read, yet I am still getting the error. Any help?
I am very new to websites, so please keep it as simple as you can.

Chmod your images folder to 777. While you're at it, do the same to all the folders beneath it.

I have already tried that as well, but it is still not working correctly. Same errors.
I am also having problems with the Define Pages Editor. I go in and change the text to what I want, then hit save, and it doesn't change a thing. Any more help?
