Trying To Change Cat/Subcat Display

Having some trouble nailing down the csss and page temp-late to change the way the category and subcategories are displayed on the main page.

Currently the category/subcategory display on the main page looks like this:

Main Category
[subcat image] [subcat image]
SubCategory SubCategory

[subcat image] [subcat image]
SubCategory SubCategory

[subcat image] [subcat image]
SubCategory SubCategory


But I want it to look like this:

Main Category

[subcat image] SubCategory [subcat image] SubCategory [subcat image] SubCategory [subcat image] SubCategory [subcat image] SubCategory [subcat image] SubCategory [subcat image] SubCategory [subcat image] SubCategory

Still having trouble with displaying subcategory icons.

Since my last post, something must have gotten changed because all the icons now align on the left under the category icon.

- Admin maximum settings for Categories To List Per Row set at 4.
- Admin image category icon set at 105px.
- #mainWrapper set at 750px.
- #contentMainWrapper set at 80% - no margin or padding. All icons still line up on left even if this is changed to 100% or removed.

I've also tried editing .categoryListBoxContents by removing float: left; - but did not work.

I'm looking at these files:

tpl_index_categories.php
tpl_index_category_row.php

tpl_modules_category_row.php
category_row.php
tpl_columnar_display.php

Can anyone give me more information on how these work together to create the cat/subcat display (really trying to understand ZC functionality on this) - and what I need to do to get the icons to display correctly?
