"Define Pages Editor" Not working?

Anytime I go to the define pages editor and erase the sample text, then add my own, it doesn't change anything on the website. I am very new to building websites, so if you guys have any help, it would be much appreciated.

Do you have the permissions on the define files set properly?

Do you have your CUSTOM template set up?

Can we see a link to the site?

Permissions for your html_includes folder should be set normally to 755 and then when you have need to edit the files change to 777, then back to 755 when you have finished.

Alternately, you can simply edit the file of the page you wish to edit in plain notepad and then re-upload it.

Thanks, for some reason editing then re-uploading completely slipped my mind.
