Discount Coupons in Sidebox

I want to add a Discount Coupon to my website. (Version 1.3.8/1.3.8a) I I filled out the information under Modules, Order Total and created the coupon under Gift Certificates/Coupons, Coupon Admin., but, while it appears when you're making a purchase, the words Discount Coupon never show up in the Information sidebox. So no one can ever check it out before they commit to buying something. How do I get it listed under the Information sidebox? Thanks for any suggestions.

Why would you advertise a coupon on your site? You may as well just reduce the price of your product or service using "Specials". That way they could see the normal price - and the reduced price.
