red flag HELP! Client accidentally copied product attribute to category

    Hi:

    Current version is 1.3.0.2

This is a complex store with dual pricing. The client made changes to a product in attribute controller. She then copied the product attribute to Category and selected up to 11 subcategories. I have all the ID's that were affected and i'm getting the MySQL backup files from the host server. http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/images...s/shocking.gif

In order to avoid wiping out any purchases for that date, we plan on restoring only the tables affected. Can anyone tell which tables would most likely be affected by the action above? http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/images/smilies/unsure.gif

I've never done anything like this before. I know how to access the db, but i have never restored certain tables only. ANY assistance would be welcome.

Lastly, how can I view the activity log? In case there are more tables affected given our upgrades.

I would create another temp DB and restore your backup to it.

Then export selecting the defaults + add drop, add if not exists, complete inserts, extended inserts.

also select all the tables that pertain to categories, products and attributes and download as a file.

Hopefully this is not too old of a back or you have not added/altered many products

Altrnatively you can delete these or create a blank set and copy to these products - then copy the correct set to these products

Idea or Suggestion Re: HELP! Client accidentally copied product attribute to category

Thanks Cobra, I'll try that. Should I assume that all category, product, and attribute tables are so labeled?

Pretty much so - it is fairly evident when you look at the tables present

red flag Re: HELP! Client accidentally copied product attribute to category

    Hi Kobra:

I have the same problem with another client. But this time, i don't have a programmer handy. Do you know anyone that can spare an hour?

this time, when copying attribute, forgot to change delete to update. Now 7 out of 8 sub categories are missing prices.

can you confirm these are the correct tables:
    _categories
    _products
    _product_attributes

do i need to also include:
    _product_options
    _porduct_option_type
    _product_option_values
    _product_option_values_to_product_options

i could use the help. I can either pay or make a contribution to zen cart.
If you or someone you know can help, please let me know and i will provide contact info. I currently have a notice regarding maintenance. the site is: customironworks.com. In the meantime, i'll try everyone i know.

    thank you.

Default Re: HELP! Best way to restore attribute accidentally deleted

I have accidentally deleted an attribute that is used by hundreds of items in my shop. What would I need to restore just the attributes to the last site back up, or would it be better to wind back the whole site? My version is
    Zen Cart 1.3.7.1

    Database Patch Level: 1.3.7

    Simple instructions will be appreciated.

    Thank in advance
