Help??? Cannot login to admin

Made the cart.. followed all the instructions methodically, checked all.

got to the screen where you can click to visit store or click to login admon area.. tried to login..
Get this error

Fatal error: Call to a member function Execute() on a non-object in /usr/www/users/me/myzencartshopname/includes/functions/sessions.php on line 72

Tried to have new pw sent to the email .still does the same, then I have to go through the whole online install bit again.. no difference.
the directory there(functions/etc) is set to 755 by default.... do I need to change that ?

What am I doing wrong here ?
