    Default Changing order number

Hi, after reading some threads about this I went to admin/store manager and reset my order number id. Problem is that it did not actually change. Does anyone know how do reset the order number manually?

    For what??
    An order already placed???
If so, not an easy task as the info is written to the DB in many places and you would have to manually edit each of these to prevent actions associated with this order from breaking

not for existing orders, just for future ones. I have upgraded my site from an old one and need the order numbers to start from 1776.

Did you follow what it says on the Store Mgr Page?

NOTE: Before updating the Current Order ID ...

Create a test order first. Then, using this Test Order ID complete the information below.
The New Order ID for the next Real Order should be entered as 1 less than the Order ID you wish to use.
Example: If you want your next Real Order ID to be 1225, enter the number 1224

WARNING: You can only reset the Order ID forward, and not backwards.
So if you set the Orders ID to 25, then change it again to 20, the next Orders ID will still be 26.
