Wonky new products display

If I change the configuration to display four per row, it displays three products on one row, one on the next, then three again, etc.

If I change the configuration to display three per row, it displays two on one row, one on the next, then two, etc.

No matter what I've tried, the first row displays one less than a specified, and that one follows on the next row by itself.

Its about the space === Images sizes and padding combined.

So if you have 640px to work with the images and padding (left and right on all plus the wrapper padding) must be less than 640px or the part which is over will drop down to the next line in display.

It displays fine in Firefox - it's just IE that's the issue. And even if I change the configuration to display only two, it will do one and one - always one less than I've specified.

IE is far more sensitive to padding with regard to relative positioning..... What size are the images when you set it to 2?
