Default Adding a "Shipped" update in the customer order

Hi, I am trying to add an attribute for the customer orders. When I update the customer with the tracking info I want the update to state something like "shipped" instead of update.

Currently there is pending, processing, delivered, update.

Could someone please help adding a new update name.

    Thanks

In the 'admin' under 'localization'>'payment status'. Choose insert and add as many as you like.

Opps! 'localization'>'order status'. Then insert what you would like.

No problem. I have set up a few for different reasons. I even have one set up called 'shipped COD' so that I can do a quick report to see what accounts receivable I am waiting on for COD orders. Then I just change the status when I get the checks from UPS to shipped without notifying the customer and my records stay straight.

I have a question related to this post.

I see where you can add the order status in Localization.

But I also want the shopping cart to send that customer an email each time the status changes.

Is that possible? If so, where?

    I'm running 1.3.8

    Thank you,

When you are editing an order or changing its status there is a little check box that says 'Notify Customer' to the right of the comments box. I believe that it is checked by default to notify the customer of any updates but you can also uncheck the box for just business updates that the customers does not need to know about.

yes, you're right. I should have added my 2nd question.

Where do I control what message goes out for each notification. I have a series of emails when an order comes for

    pending
    paid
    shipped
    complete

    Thanks
