1053 Server shutdown in progress

I'm using zencart 1.3.8. I'm having a problem when trying to mail a gift certificate. I have used this feature many times and never had a problem. When I click on Mail Gift Certificate, I get the following error message:

1053 Server shutdown in progress
in:
[SELECT DISTINCT c.customers_email_address as customers_email_address, c.customers_lastname as customers_lastname, c.customers_firstname as customers_firstname FROM customers c LEFT JOIN orders o ON c.customers_id=o.customers_id WHERE o.date_purchased IS NULL ]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.


I have no idea what may be causing this, I'd appreciate any help.

You need to report that message to your hosting company so they can fix it.

I did contact my hosting company and I was told the following:

We have noticed that the database continues to exceed current MySQL quota. In order to resolve the issue you should add more MySQL to query limits.

How do I go about adding more MySQL to query limits?
