Gift Cards with variable price option

Okay, for our store we have a special category "Gift Cards" but it has to be like a dynamic price card, kinda like a credit card. Our customer should be able to go to that category and when he buys a gift card, he needs to be able to set his own price for the gift card, if he wants to have only $5 he will get that amount, if he wants $6.25, the same thing. Is it possible to do it and how?

You could setup a $1.00 product ...

You could even customize the template file or use a different Product Type for this that is customized to look more "Gift Certificate" oriented ...

yeah its an option to set up the $1.00 product and let the user set up the amount of dollars but somehow i was thinking that you could have a customer oriented field where he could just put in his own price he wants to pay (in this case for gift card)

I cannot recall a time that I wanted to get a Gift Cart for $6.27 ...

You would have to do a lot of customization to manage the quantity so that other quantity fields do not use decimal places ...

you are right. I think it would be much easier to go with integers, and it makes more sense.
