Multiple Zen Cart Installations on one hosting account

I have both shared hosting that allows multiple domain names and multiple MySQL databases. The domain names all have a shared IP address. My question is: can I install multiple Zen Cart applications anyways; One for each domain name, or will not having a unique IP address for each domain name foul me up.

You can install as many separate copies as you like, in separate folders, unique to each domain. It is recommended that you use separate databases for each, to keep things more individually manageable.

For SSL you should have a unique ip for each domain.

Does your hosting company allow multiple ip addresses in a single hosting account? You will need unique ip addresses for each of the domain names if you want separate SSL certificates.

They allow multiple IP addresses with their VPS hosting but not with the shared hosting. As I said before, they allow multiple domain names on my "shared" hosting. They all share the same IP address. That was my question; do I have to have a separate IP address for each Zen Cart install, or do I just need separate domain names?

If you want separate dedicated SSL Cert (issued to the domain name they are for) then you will need a unique ip address for each domain. If you are going to use the shared cert from the server you just need different domain names for each install. You can also, in the case of retail vs wholesale you could use a sub-domain. So you would have www.domainname.com (for retail) and wholesale.domainname.com (wholesale) in a subdirectory with its own install of ZC.
