Template Override Issue

Zencart 1.3.8
Following the manual directions, I created a copy of "Classic" and renamed it "Magic". Now when I select "Magic", the left and right columns do not appear.

Any thoughts?

Reset the boxes in your Admin> Tools> Layout Boxes controller

I purchased, read and followed the template over ride instructions.
I read all the Tutorials & FAQs I was able to find on the subject.
And still, the "Classic" template shows left and right columns, but my 2 custom templates "magic" & "ramblinrose" do not.

I would be happy to provide FTP log in criteria privatley to anyone who might be able to provide some insight into where I'm going wrong.

Try out Kim's instructions and see if things work.

Just in case you miss it, after switching to a new template:

Go to Tools > Layout Boxes Controller and click the "Reset" button at the bottom of the page.

To turn on/off either one or both of the sidebars:

Go to Configuration > Layout Settings, and set the following fields accordingly:
- Column Left Status - Global
- Column Right Status - Global

That seems to have solved the problem.
