Right Column on Product Detail Page

I'm trying to get the right column to show up on the product detail pages. Is there a proper way to do this? I notice the columns don't show up on the product detail pages and internal custom pages like contact us. Right now the goal is to get it to show up on the detail page but wouldn't mind knowing what it is that makes it show up on some and not others.

So is there something I'm missing or should I just hack the code for the right column into the layout?

default zencart behavior , shows columns on all pages. if you have custom template , then either there is a problem with your template , or a custom code has been introduced to disable columns on some pages.

following tutorial , will show you how to disable columns on some pages.. look at the tutorial, and compare the file in tutorial with the one on your site and see if those codes has been added to your pages .
