Limitations of Zen-Cart? (linked products, unique products)

Dear Zen-Cart Team,

What are the limitations of Zen-Cart + MySQL ?

More specificly, our auto parts store will have 500,000 (half a million) records in the products_to_categories table. We will have over 20,000 unique products, cross linked to an AVERAGE of 25 or more categories.

Our Make-->Model-->Year selection is currently done through zen-cart categories.

Is this huge number of unique products plus large scale cross-linking sustainable with MySQL + Zen-Cart ? Can we handle a 500,000+ product_to_category table ?

As far as I know, Zen Cart is only limited by the capacity of your server to store the information in the database.

I would have to say looking back at the post from a long while back that this would be a host provider. I know for a fact that i have 10000 products and a lot of cross links items.

I have to change providers because my old one could not handle the load between mysql Db and the site. My new host that i have been with for a year now i have had no issues and they are on the list of providers that support large db quaries.

So i would think you should not have an issues besides times linking items... thats with any cart
