Help Displaying Sub Category Products

Does anyone know what file I should look at so I can alter the way my categories display products? When I click on a category, I want it to display all products from the sub categories in a random order (20 per page)

I need my jewelery and my lingerie categories to display the products in their sub categories, in the same way all my other main categories do (my other main categories do not have sub-cats just products).

I know the 'what's hot this Month' shows random products from the sub-cats but how would I get it to show all products from the sub categories in a random order (20 per page) and act as though there were no sub cats?

At least, what files should I be looking to modify as I can't figure out what files control this behaviour.

It's also doing it in Womenswear, Menswear and Childrenswear. It never used to do this :-(

OK, figured this out. I had overridden my previously modified default_filter.php which has specific code written to display sub category products at random, from within the parent category.

I have now merged these files and it's sorted.

I'm just having one slight niggle now, can't get the default sort order to work correctly. Outlined here if anyone cares to help :-)
