New Catagory shows blank

Today I added the category Platos Closet to my site and a item to the category. When I attempt to view the category it just shows a blank page. but I can view the product just fine, if I goto it directly. if I try to add the product to cart I get a blank page.

my first thought was messed up catagory so I created a new one and moved the bag in it. same results. So I moved the bag to an existing category. That category shows just fine still, but bag still wont add to cart.

so I moved an existing bag into the platos closet category and still no show. So I moved it out and made a new category and started over new category and new item. Same results.

I then noticed that I had forgotten to delete the old category and discovered that while it was empty it displayed just fine.

So I put it back they way I want it to be in the end posted this (after searching for answers) and am hoping for help.

I got lost two categories ago, but that category says there are no products in it. Try adding a different product to Platos Closet and see what happens.

You're getting a blank page when you try to add any product to the cart - check this:

When you get all this figured out, come on back and ask why your site is so slow (hint: your images are way too big (file size, not dimensions).

You know, I had this same problem when I was first setting up my Zen Cart. This is by no means a long term fix, but try adding another product, and see if that doesn't work. I notice whenever I only have one product in a category, it gets all wonky and pages start blanking out on me left and right.

Lol Yea I know they are huge but when I was building the site I started with small images and was instructed to make all images on the site high rez by people around here who love to right-click ->view images then zoom in to get larger views. I was also informed that Everybody does it that way now so all images are now being converted to High Rez. Unfortunatly that statement was followed by "Oh by the way my email says it cant find word to use as a text editor is it ok to use the outlook default?"

so now the site loads slowly

adding a second item to the category fixed the plank page issue

Actually, it masked the blank page issue ...

When a Category has 1 Product and the Skip Product Listing on 1 Product Categories is turned on, it should go to the product _info page ...

Adding the 2nd Product just stops this from needing to perform this action ... that did not "fix" the problem as to "why" it is not working correctly ...

You might get the Debug Tool from the Free Software Add Ons and make another 1 Product Category to reproduce the error and see what error messages are generated to fix your files/code correctly ...
