    Default question about noindex,nofollow fix

So now I'm confused, I've had the noindex, nofollow there for months but still my site seems to have been picked up by google. Is that normal? Is it just my site is know about but no links carry any weight???

    Confused!?!
    I too am confused. I am using 1.3.8.a
    I have:
    Admin->Configuration->Layout Settings->Categories - Always Show on Main Page = 1
    which I understand is the condition under which the bug manifests.
    However, I do not find a noindex/nofollow in the homepage source that zencart creates.
    Should I install this bug fix?
    Thanks.

    I guess if there's no problem to fix then there's no need to go fixing it.

    Thank you DrByte. Your point is well taken. I did make the "fix" and compared the source produced before and after the fix and found there is no difference in source attributable to the "fix".

    However, since others have repeatedly experienced this "bug," I am concluding that the conditions under which the errant behavior manifests is not yet fully specified nor completely understood.

    Therefore, based upon ever changing conditions, the problem behavior may manifest unexpectedly at any time the following statement is not true:
    Code:
    if ($categories->RecordCount() > 0)
    So, I plan on leaving the "fix" installed.

    Yet, this does raise the question in my pea-brain, what if any new problems might be created by the "fix?"

    Thanks!

    No problems will be created by the posted fix. In fact, the posted fix is now part of the next version. So, if you're using virgin code then the fix will only do good.

    I have no idea why your specific situation wasn't manifesting the problem initially, and will never know without looking at all the files on your site to investigate exactly. Maybe you've got an addon or template installed that's changed something of how the normal code works and thus the problem is not manifesting the same.

    Thanks Dr.Byte. FYI, no addon's and no templates installed. I do however have several several customizations using the override system.
    Cheers!
