Default TinyMCE editor is blank after renaming admin folder

    Hello Dr Byte:

I have not bugged you in a while. I placed a post here http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpost.php?p=759425&postcount=40 cause I was not sure if this was related or not.

    here are the details:
    I have a quick question. I installed
    TinyMCE Version: 2.1
Title : TinyMCE Editor v3.0.8 Plugin for Zen Cart v1.3.8a (EQUIPED with ImageManager Plugin)
    Author : http://www.ferolen.com
    Release: 19 May 2008

back in February. I have been using it since and had no problems even had the image manager working like a charm. However, yesterday I noticed that when I went to edit a product description or a define page, the textarea of the TinyMCE editor is blank. I switch editor in admin>configuration>store back to HTML editor and I can see it just fine.

The only thing new on the server is the recently installed security patch. I then checked the cpanel error log and got this repeating line:
[Thu Jul 23 17:55:14 2009] [error] [client myIP] File does not exist: /home/user/public_html/ImageManager/lang/en.js

I then removed the patch completely and still get a blank. could this be related to the new name for the admin folder?

    Has anyone experienced this?

I suspect it's a result of something going wrong with the rename of the admin folder. Or maybe the addon you're using isn't compatible with a renamed admin folder?

Hopefully someone familiar with that addon will reply to your other post on the matter: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...5&postcount=40

I've not experienced this, but I do have tinyMCE installed in our cart and we've not had any problems with it due to the security patch.

However, we don't have the imagemanager plugin installed, and the error message you are seeing would suggest that this is where the problem is, rather than tinyMCE itself.

First thing I'd be doing is to check/verifiy that /home/user/public_html/ImageManager/lang/en.js does exist or not. If not, find out where it currently is and relocate it.

You could also try uninstalling this particular plugin and see if the problem goes away, and if so, try re-installing it agian.

Also check to see if the plugin has any configuration settings relating to the /admin/ folder, and if so, reset them to match your renamed folder.

    Happy hunting.

    Cheers
    Rod

    Hi Rod:

thanks for replying. i tried each of your suggestions and although it cleared the error logs, it did not fix the editor issue. I have emailed Felix, the author, directly, perhaps he can shed some light on this odd phenomenon.
