Custom template from HTML, CSS

Hello All,

I am going to risk being a n00b with a n00biest question. This probably needs a reassurance of what I think needs to be done.

I installed Zen Cart on my local machine, which later will be deployed to a website. For the website, I have a collection of images, a html index file, and a stylesheet.

I have to use all that to install a new template to the zen-cart.

Am I right in saying that my only way of creating the new template is to modify the stylesheet? Or is there any other way I need to take?

On modern websites many of the visual elements are controlled by one or more stylsheets. This includes Zen Cart, so to change the look & feel you would not be able to avoid stylsheet changes.

However, that's only part of the answer. The stylesheets are applied to templates that dictate what appears on each page and the order in which elements appear. So some change are made tot he underlying templates too.
