Oh Noooo I didnt optimize my Images!!!

Please tell me theres a program that will go through my 100+ photos and optimise them for the web!!!

Does that make me sound lazy? I have read all about image optimization and I can now go through and do it all manually but I was hoping there was a program out there somewhere that can do it all for me.

Am I dreaming?

cripes, what a learning curve!

i downloaded image handler...this is my first add-on (mod?)

there doesnt seem to be any instructions with it explaining how to install

i have searched the forum or advice on how to install an add-on but have had no joy.

can you direct me to a post or advise?

Oops! Now nothing works.

Looked at the directions in the link you sent and it says go to the admin-tools-serverinfo to check for GD but now I can't get into the admin login OR the zencart I have customised. I figure it's because I have changed the word 'localhost' in those configure.php files because when I enter in what I used to to access the admin (http://localhost/zen/admin) it jumps to
http://www.attackinfo.com.au/zen/admin/login.php and says Object not found.

what have I done wrong?

I was trying to get my graphics to show up in the live site and changed a few things (this is what I was referring to in my previous post):

There are two threads on the go! Kuroi is much more the expert on both issues that I am. So, I will keep my mouth closed

What he says in the other thread about the path to your Zen folder makes sense though.

When you get to thinking about the image optimisation the links I posted will give you all the information you need about installing Image Handler.

If you decide to go the 'manual' route and upload large, medium and small versions of the image then I might recommend an image handling program called IRFANVIEW. It is free and what it does well is batch handling of images. So, it would take a folder of all your images and re size them all and rename them all imagename_MED.jpg and put the new files in a folder called medium. All the images in one go which saves a bit of time.

Image handler is great though And has the advantage that if you add new products all you need to do is upload one image by the admin panel.
