Default Need to change shipping calculation to grams

I changed the "lbs" to "grams" and the weight now shows as grams when people try and check out.
However, it still makes some strange calculation.
For example, I have it set up so that 500 grams should cost $11 postage.
However, when you check out, rather than give you the $11 fee for 500 grams you get a calculation that says:
    Table Rate (44 x 50.00grams) and charges $48
(Before I changed this to grams it said
    Table Rate (44 x 50.00lbs)
    If you click on
    "test crystal 3 - 500 grams"
On my website http://www.treasureshaven.com/treasureshop you will see what I mean.
How do I get zen cart to just not try and make a calculation at all and just calculate it based on the total number of grams
    Thanks

Hi, I had the exact same problem with a client this morning.....heres what i needed to change to fix the problem

    Go to Configuration - shipping/packages

set Package Tare Small to Medium - added percentage:weight to 0:0

    AND

set Larger packages - added packaging percentage:weight to 0:0

    AND

set Enter the Maximum Package Weight you will ship to something like 50000000.00

Let me know if that works :)

    Hi

You need to change your display number of boxes to 1,2 or 3 depending on what works. It worked for me.

Thanks. That solved the really weird numbers that I was getting but now I have another problem. It still wont calculate correctly.
If I say for example a $5 handling fee and use these table rates:
100:8,1000:25,500000:250 (Meaning $13 up to 100 grams, $30 up to a kilo and $250 anything over a kilo).
My first number always works right no matter what numbers that I use.
In this example anything up to 100 grams shows correctly
    500 grams charges $85
    And $1605 for 10,000 grams
Any ideas about what I might be doing wrong?
    Thanks

Ooops. Looks like I figured out what was wrong. I neglected to change the maximun weight that I would ship to a gazillion. Now it appears to work fine. Thanks for the help
