Downloadable Documents at Checkout

I am running v 1.38........linux server.........

My downloadable documents seem to be set up and working ok in the cart......

The documents are set up two ways pdf and zip file.

The download box shows up in the shopping cart after the customer has paid.....when the customer clicks on the download button.....they get a blank page not a popup box asking them where they want to save the document.

Blank page ? Where do I look now ?

It was the ht:access files as someone on the forum suggested.
