Default transferring servers, files not renaming

I have just moved to a new server and installed a fresh zencart. Well the webhost did. They have called the top directory "shop", while on my existing live site it has a different name. They have called the admin directory "admin", while on my live shop I have changed the name for that one too.

I have tried to edit: includes/configure.php to change the name of the top directory and nothing happened. I follow the steps editing /admin/includes/configure.php to change the name of the admin directory, and nothing happened. Am I missing something? Its the same version - 1.3.8.

Default Re: transferring servers, files not renaming

You have to change the permissions on these files before editing them. They should are set to 444 read only, in order to edit them they need to be 644. Make your changes then set them back to 444.

Also note that changing the paths and or folder names in these files does not move the files or rename the folder on your server. The files will have to be physically moved and the folder will have to be renamed. If you don't know how to do this you are better off having a professional do this for you.

    Good luck
